UV RAYS EFFECTS IN DOGS
I’m here to talk
about a scientific research held by the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna.
This research covers the damage in our skin caused by sunrays.
Christa Horvath-Ungerböck, dermatologist who
is currently working at the University, explains that taking care of a dog demands
special attention when we have sparse and light hair, if we have sensitive skin,
when we’re clipped, or yet, if we spend a long time exposed to sunlight.
Some dogs like me - a Whippet – or such as a
Dalmatian, a White Boxer, a Pitbull or a Bull Terrier are more vulnerable to
injury due to UV rays exposure.
Our hair protects our skin against harmful
external agents, but it’s not totally efficient when our care is neglected and
that may cause several diseases, including skin cancer.
Horvath-Ungerböck, dermatologist, explains it’s necessary that we wear
clothes while we’re exposed to sunlight.
By thinking about all of it, GP Pet Wear Atelier has created a Parka
that has UV protection on its fabric.
From now on, besides being fetching, we’ll also be protected.
